Learning how to create a web page:
1. You can use MS Word or MS Front page. However, there are a number of web page composers around. I recommend MS Front page. You can use MS Word, your regular word processor. If you use MS Word, be sure to save your document in "htm". This is critical for your page to show up on the Internet.
2. Save all of your information (pages and images) about the topic in the same folder on your computer, e.g., golf, tech, theory or whatever folder name that you can remember. I'd also suggest that you keep this folder on your desktop.
3. When you create your web page, keep in mind that if you link this page to another page, both pages must be in the same folder. This also applies to inserting images into your web page. All images must be in the "golf" folder before the image is inserted into the page.
4. It is strongly suggested that when you save your page, use only lower case letters and "no" spaces between words. For example, golf results for May 25, 2008, would be "results042508." Keep the page names short.
5. Now, it is time to learn how to update the web page and images to the server.
Learning how to upload files to the PLMGA server:
1. Go to the following website and download the "file transfer protocol" (FTP) called "filezilla" at: http://filezilla-project.org/
2. Select "Download FileZilla Server, Windows only." Remember where you saved the program on your computer, e.g., "desktop."
3. Double click on the ftp icon to open the program on your computer. When opened, you should see a website like the following:

4. You need to enter the following information in the address bar at the top of the page:
Address: apollo.eburg.com
User: web19_plmga
Password: plmga
5. Once you are at the server site (physically located in Ellensburg), click on "WEB" on the RIGHT side of the web page.
6. The RIGHT side of the page is the "server" contents. That is the list of files and images currently located on the server. The LEFT side of the page is called the "local site." This what is located on your computer.
7. On the LEFT side, locate the web pages and images that you want to move to the server. I usually click on "last modified" to locate the work I just completed.
8. Individually, drag each page (file) and image to the RIGHT side of the Filezilla screen.
9. Check your effort. To see if all is well on the Internet, open your browser (Netscape, Explorer, Foxfire, etc.) to see if the FTP took place.
10. For example, I just dragged the files "plwga2008members.htm" and "plwga2008home.htm" from the LEFT side to the RIGHT side, one at a time. (I linked the membership file from the main or "home" page. In this example, "plwga2008home" stands for "Port Ludlow Women's Golf Associaton, 2008, home page." The page I just linked was the Port Ludlow Women's Golf Association, 2008, Membership."
11. The web address for this web site is: http://www.plmga.org/plwga2008home.htm
