Niners CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE I:  NAME AND OBJECT

1.     This organization shall be named the Port Ludlow Nine Hole Golf Association.

2.     This organization shall be established to encourage the play of friendly competitive golf.

ARTICLE II:  MEMBERSHIP/DUES HANDICAPS

1.     Membership of this organization will consist of both men and women who are members of the Port Ludlow Golf Club and play golf weekly at designated times both in separate groups and together once each month/or when scheduled by the officers.

2.     Annual dues are payable prior to the start of scheduled play each year.

3.     All members shall establish and maintain a handicap to be used for all competitive play.  Maximum handicap for Men’s nine-hole play will be 18. Maximum handicap for women play will  be 36.

ARTICLE III:  OFFICERS

1.     The women’s officers of this organization will consist of

  • Captain,
  • Co-Captain,
  • Statistics/Handicap Chairperson,
  • Couples Chairpersons, Play Day Chairperson, and
  • Trustees, which will consist of all former Captains.

The men’s officers will consist of

  • Captain,
  • Co-Captain,
  • Statistics/Handicap Chairperson,
  • Play Day Chairperson,
  • Social Chairman and Trustees, which will consist of all former Captains.
  • A Secretary and a
  • Treasurer shall be elected from a slate of nominees provided by a combined men and women nominating committee.

2.     The officers of this organization shall be elected in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the By-Laws.

3.     The officers shall have such powers and duties as may be prescribed by the By-Laws.

ARTICLE IV:  AMENDMENTS

This constitution may be amended, but only by three-fourths (3/4) vote of the members present at any regular meeting of this organization, with prior notice to all members, providing a quorum of members is in attendance.  A quorum is defined as one-third (1/3) of the membership.

ARTICLE V:  AMENDMENTS – BY-LAWS

By-Laws of this Association may be adopted, amended or rescinded at any regular meeting of the association by a vote of three-fourths (3/4) of the members present; provided, however, that notice be posted at the Pro Shop prior to such meeting, and providing a quorum (1/3) of the members is in attendance, with exception
